Frequently Asked Questions

No! The patch should not be applied to areas that flex or move a lot such as the joints. Constant motion and stretching lead to continuous skin movement and can lead to loosening and debonding of the patch. As an alternative you can stick the patch close to the joints e.g. biceps, thigh or back of the shoulder to still benefit from localised healing action.

The simple answer is No. Our patches are not designed for use in companion animals. 

Do not use SkinSync CBD-fortified Hemp patches on children. These patches are meant for adult use only. 

Please make sure that the protector is removed prior to application. Generally, the reason the patch not adhering well is when the skin is either wet or oily due to use of creams or too much water. Please make sure that the water or hydration lotion is only applied uniformly to cover the central white active layer of the patch and it does not leak out outside that area onto the adhesive part.  Please see this video for correct application of the patch.

The skin can feel irritated after long-term application of a patch. This is especially applicable to sensitive skin. Several other reasons can also contribute to irritation including, the inability of the skin to breathe for long duration under the occluded conditions of the patch,  or reaction to the adhesive. If you feel irritation, please remove the patch immediately but gently to avoid further aggravating the skin . Wash the skin gently with soap and water, then dry and apply soothing cream suited to your skin. 

SkinSync® Patches are hypoallergenic and use strong adhesives so they can stay in place for 72h. When you remove the patch, do it “low and slow “ (no ripping) and preferably under running water. Gently lift the edge of the patch and slowly remove in the direction of your hair growth. This will  avoid the potential removal of the top layer of the skin (like with waxing) and the resulting redness or irritation. Once removed, if you still feel some itchiness, do not scratch, gently rub a soothing lotion on the affected area. 

Generally, this will occur if the patch is not adhered well to start with. SkinSync patches are designed to be water resistant and occlusive (that is no entry of water inside the patch if properly attached). This should allow application for up to 72 hours. It is important to gently press the patch after applying for at least 30 seconds to ensure the activation of the adhesive layer and good bonding. The other things to ensure good adhesion are clean skin, and avoidance of water or lotion spreading into the adhesive area at the time of application.

While we recommend that the patches be worn for 72 hours to get the most out of SkinSync® patches, if you feel uncomfortable wearing the patch, you can remove it at 48 hours or earlier. You will still get the desired effects because the release of the active is designed to be steady over the period of application. In other words, the active starts working as soon as the patch releases it onto the skin.
